Office Visits
Your First VisitAt your first visit to Just Orthodontics we will begin by taking photographs and digital x-rays of your teeth. Dr. Just will take a look at your teeth and develop a plan to create a beautiful smile for you. He will then explain what needs to be corrected, how it will be corrected and what you can expect when you are finished. We know your time is valuable so you will learn everything you need to know about your orthodontic treatment at this appointment including financial information and office policies so your next appointment will be to put your braces on. Appointing Policy Most people seeking orthodontics treatment have important obligations during the day, whether for work or school. During active orthodontic treatment, the patient is seen every 4-8 weeks and some of these appointments will conflict with work or school. We have put much effort and time into designing our scheduling system. Here is what we want it to do. We want to see you ON TIME for your appointment and we want to have plenty of time during each appointment to do the necessary treatments to give you information about the treatment and to answer any questions. We also want to work with you around your school and work hours as much as possible. Thus, we need both structure and flexibility in the schedule. Following are some aspects of the system that you will notice: We have two types of appointments:
Most appointments are blissfully short. During your treatment, there will be times when the adjustments can be done quickly even when they are very technical. We have put a lot of thought into designing treatment methods that will cause you the least amount of inconvenience. Because the schedule is carefully crafted, your late arrival can pose a problem. In fairness to the other scheduled patients, we won’t try to jam you into the schedule but will reschedule you. It might be all right for you to wait for an opening in the schedule but sometimes that won’t happen until the end of the day. If we need to reschedule an after-school appointment, it may not be possible to have a “prime time” appointment for a week or more. The same applies to a missed appointment. Everyone has very busy schedules and we realize appointments need to be changed occasionally. We would appreciate at least 24 hours notice if you need to change an appointment so your time can be offered to someone else who may be in the same situation. To have the best choice of appointment times for your next appointment, it is important to schedule your appointment as you leave. Tooth brushing is always available in our office and we truly appreciate a clean mouth. Just be sure you arrive a little early so this can be done before your appointment time. Payment & Office Policies Cost The cost of treatment depends on the severity of the patient's problem. You will be able to discuss fees and payment options before treatment begins. We have payment plans to suit different budgets, including a no-down-payment option. We also accept assignment from most insurance plans and we will file the necessary papers to the insurance company. We work hard to make orthodontics affordable. Fees In an effort to keep orthodontic fees down while maintaining the highest level of professional care, we have established this financial policy:
If you have insurance, we will help you to determine the coverage you have available. We ask that you assign your insurance benefit to us. The balance will be arranged for you to pay (see above). Professional care is provided to you, our patient, and not to an insurance company. Thus, the insurance company is responsible to the patient and the patient is responsible to the doctor. We will help in every way we can in filing your claim and handling insurance questions from our office on your behalf. |
